Setting sail for success at new canal-side development
Plinkfizz was appointed to support the launch of Barton Marina – a new multi million pound canal-side development in Barton-under-Needwood.
An integrated PR campaign was developed to help raise its profile and establish its presence as a key attraction within the Midlands.
Plinkfizz offered support from the initial launch of the development to the opening of its Waterfront pub and eight craft shops, focusing on the benefits of regeneration and the creation of new jobs.
The campaign included an interesting photo opportunity for local media where Steelite International, based in Stoke-on-Trent, delivered new crockery to The Waterfront pub via canal. The idea was to highlight the significance of Barton Marina on the waterways network which is now attracting a growing canal and leisure trade.
Our campaign generated significant regional media coverage, totalling more than £35,000 worth of Equivalent Advertising Value (EAV). This included live interviews throughout BBC Radio Derby’s morning programme and various spreads in the region’s key media such as the Birmingham Post and Express & Star Series, and trade publications – Canal Boat and Canals & Rivers.
