Groundwork Stoke-on-Trent
Project helps hundreds of workers get off the ground in North Staffordshire
Groundwork Stoke-on-Trent is a leading environmental regeneration charity tasked with the challenge of helping to grow and support the local economy. It has a reputation for delivering a wide range of projects that make a real difference to the city.
It secured funding in May 2007 and appointed Plinkfizz to market a new scheme designed to create jobs and offer training within the local construction industry.
We provided a detailed marketing plan to launch and support the initiative, which became the North Staffordshire Construction Employment Centre (NSCEC).
We designed the brand, developed relevant marketing materials and helped to establish and raise the profile of the scheme through an integrated PR campaign.
Resulting media coverage included a front page spread in The Sentinel – the region’s main daily newspaper – and ongoing articles within regional business press.
To date, more than 800 people have signed up to the North Staffordshire Construction Employment Centre, which is hosted by Groundwork Stoke-on-Trent. Thirty-five people are back in full time employment and another 65 have completed training courses.
It’s anticipated that by December 2007 more than 250 people will enrol on training courses and a new school-leavers programme is set to be launched to support 16-21 year olds.
